It is against our Occupancy by-law to use your unit as an Airbnb, Bed and Breakfast or other variations of similarly popular tempting money makers.

If you wish to sublet your unit, see the Occupancy Bylaw Article 8.6. Sub-Occupancy and Absence from Unit (sub-let) or check with the office. There is also an explainer here. You and your sub-lessee will have to sign an agreement overseen by the office. This applies to all units in our housing co-op – on Wilton Street (including 133 Wilton Street), George Street South, Frederick Street, and Albert Franck Place.

The Hoarding Issue: a guide for Woodsworth

THE PROBLEM

Hoarding generates health and fire hazards and poses a problem for everyone. The challenge is finding means of dealing with it within the framework of cooperative principles.

Most hoarders do not recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, and so others must step in to help ameliorate and hopefully turn around the situation. Hoarding is considered a mental health issue because it is involuntary and unconscious, and requires self-awareness remediation as well as “extreme cleaning” of one’s unit to remove fire hazards.

Penthouse Party Room Window Signage Restriction

PARTY ROOM USERS – New Restriction on Window Signage / Decor

Please note that we have recently installed heat controlling / UV blocking window film on the Party Room windows and sliding doors in order to cut air conditioning costs, prevent fading and reduce glare on the television. Please do not decorate or post signage on these surfaces — the film will tear when the adhesive (i.e. stickers, decals, suction cups, glue, putty, scotch, masking, painter’s and removable double stick tape.) is pulled off.

NB: Damage incurred will impact room deposits and or future room use privileges where applicable.

The sidelight beside the main party room door has a white board where you are encouraged to post your room booking when in use. There is no film on this glass – because it is not exposed to the sun. Decor & signage can be applied there as long as it does not obstruct the view for On-Call safety purposes.
