Invite anyone into your unit – please remain behind a closed door if someone comes to visit you.
Visit your neighbours

Please DO:
Only if you’re comfortable – let the Office and/or the Board know that you’re in quarantine. You are not required to report your health status to anyone at any time, but if you ask for help, we’re ready to provide it.

SAFETY CONTROLS –

WOODSWORTH CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING

To protect the members and the staff from some risk of exposure to COVID-19 consider the following:

Wear a Mask:
Wearing a mask or face covering is required under the Mandatory Mask or Face Covering ByLaw of the City of Toronto in indoor public spaces and apartment building common areas.

Office Open hours:
The office will remain closed. Members can make appointments with staff. Members may schedule appointments to meet with staff – all appointments should be of a nature that cannot be conducted by phone or email.

The appointments will be held in the computer room where the Member Services Coordinator will meet with members.
Members must wear masks when meeting.

Internal and External Moves:
Internal moves continue to be scheduled but will be strictly monitored

Protocols for moves: Members and movers must wear masks, maintain 2M distancing; maintenance staff if they are needed, wearing PPE including mask, face shield, gloves and booties and sanitizing all touchpoints before starting and after the move.
If members or movers do not have masks and gloves the office can provide them.

During the move a maintenance staff should block off the hallways, breaks are scheduled for members to get through blocked hallways every hour.

The moves in the midrise need to be supervised by a maintenance/cleaning person at the start and by the end of moving to ensure the cleaning of particularly high-touch surfaces and elevators.

Elevator Usage:
Guideline for the elevators continue; 1 person or household at a time (both the city and province are recommending that the same physical distancing guidelines be in place for Phase 2)

Laundry Room:
Current guidelines continue; 1 person in the Albert Franck laundry room and 3 people in the penthouse laundry room.

Penthouse:
Current guideline continues; 5-person limit, face masks recommended and use of hand sanitizer before and after entering the penthouse. Bookings will remain on hold for the moment.

Hallways:
Hallways should not be blocked so that members can adhere to 2M distancing. If people are socializing in the hallway and someone needs to get through, they should move into their units to allow the person to pass through.

Maintenance repairs (work orders):
To protect maintenance staff and co-op members in response to the recent increase in Covid-19 cases, all non-essential maintenance services will be suspended. Staff will still respond to emergencies. The Co-op defines an emergency as an occurrence involving flood, fire, loss of heat or hot water, or loss of use of the toilet, which requires immediate action.

Emergency repairs will be addressed with the correct safety precautions: Members leaving the unit if possible, wearing a mask if not, but still maintaining the 2M distancing; maintenance staff wearing PPE including mask, face shield, gloves and booties and sanitizing all touchpoints prior to starting the work).

If you are feeling unwell and/or do not feel comfortable with a contractor entering your unit due to Covid-19, please contact the office.

Meetings:
Same as it is for now; The Board and Management are working on more options for members meetings like virtual meetings.

BEST PRACTICES

As well, all know the recommendations from the last months will continue to apply. Everyone must do their part to keep each other, our families and our communities safe.

We call all help by:

– Staying at home and away from others if you are feeling ill
– Washing your hands frequently with soap and water
– Maintaining physical distancing of at least two metres from people outside your immediate household in public
– Using an alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available
– Practising good hygiene (avoiding touching your face and covering your cough or sneeze)
– Wearing a face covering is now mandatory when indoors and in public where physical distancing is a challenge or not possible
– Limiting outings and public gatherings as per emergency orders
– Increasing the cleaning of frequently touched surfaces
– Minimizing travel and self-isolating for 14 days after all international travel
– Working remotely or redesigning spaces and interactions to make them safer
– Getting tested if you are worried you have or have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19
– Protecting the most vulnerable

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
