Woodsworth is a non-profit housing co-operative. Members\u2019 housing charges (rent) are set to cover the co-op\u2019s mortgage, operating costs, maintenance, property taxes, staffing, and reserves for future repairs.<\/p>\n
To support members facing financial challenges, Woodsworth offers two types of assistance: Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI)<\/strong> assistance through CMHC<\/strong>\u00a0and Emergency Housing Charge Assistance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Woodsworth has an agreement with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)<\/strong> that allows up to 25% of households<\/strong> to receive rent-geared-to-income (RGI) assistance.<\/p>\n RGI assistance helps households whose housing charges are 30% or more of their gross household income<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Key points:<\/strong><\/p>\n * RGI is administered by co-op management<\/strong> under a formal CMHC agreement. \n* The program is usually fully subscribed<\/strong>, but a confidential waiting list is maintained.
